Computer and Internet Access
The Bullitt County Public Library provides access to the internet on computer workstations available at every library location. Wireless internet access is also provided at all library locations.
Most library computers are equipped with Microsoft Office 2016 software, including Access, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher, and Word. Library laptops may also be checked out from the Circulation Desk for use inside the library.
Study Rooms at each location can be reserved for educational or work-related purposes. A work table and computer station are available. Call the appropriate library for details.
Computer Classes
Our Reference Department offers free one-on-one computer classes during scheduled reference hours at each location. To schedule an appointment, call the Ridgway Reference Desk at 502-543-7675 ext. 4.
Subjects include resumé help, computer basics, Web navigation and e-mail, social networking sites, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Publisher, and the basics of Microsoft Excel or PowerPoint. We also provide training on our library databases and online catalog and an overview of resources on our library website. Group Classes:
The Reference and Outreach Departments offer special-interest group computer classes and workshops on a semi-regular basis. Possible topics include coding, Pinterest, online job searching, eBay retailing, online genealogy research, and resources for book lovers. Please check program listings or the Library Bulletin for current classes. You may also contact the Reference Department at 543-7675 ext. 4 or e-mail reference@bcplib.org to suggest topics for future group classes.
