BCPL wants to help you explore a multitude of learning opportunities that can aid you in achieving your education, career, and personal goals through free and open access to the many available tools we provide.  Whether you need to pass a test, master technology, or do a DIY small engine repair, you'll find the information you need at your library.

  • ABCmouse.com Early Learning Academy

    ABCmouse is an online educational resource for children ages 2 to 8. The site features a wide variety of lessons and learning activities, including books, videos, games, puzzles, songs, art activities, printables, and more. You can now access ABCmouse from home with your library card or at any BCPL location!

  • ArtistWorks

    Learn from a Grammy winner! ArtistWorks offers instrumental and voice lessons from world-class professionals covering Bluegrass, Blues, Classical, Country, Jazz, Rock, and more. From beginner instruction to advanced classes, aspiring musicians of all skills levels are provided a guided path of video lessons containing everything they need to reach their musical goals.

    AtoZdatabases is a premier online reference and research tool providing instant, up-to-date information on US businesses and residents, including marketing and sales leads; mailing lists; employment opportunities; background searches; and profiles on companies, executives, and healthcare professionals. Plus, search historical addresses, locate lost friends and family, attend live training webinars, or send group e-mails for free with pre-designed templates.

Explora offers reliable information on thousands of topics covering a wide range of subjects including art and music, literature, language arts, geography, history, social studies, world cultures and languages, science, technology, engineering, mathematics, health, and sports.

    Fiero Code

    Learn computer programming skills through a series of quick tutorials and gamified projects! Choose from a variety of “workouts” and “missions” as you learn to build websites, video games, phone apps, animations, and more. The Fiero Code software provides an accessible, easy-to-navigate coding journey geared toward youth ages 8–18, but adults can enjoy Fiero Code, too.

    Kanopy offers a unique and extensive collection of indie flicks, world cinema, classic films, and award-winning documentaries. Plus, enjoy celebrated educational series like NOVA, Ken Burns America, and The Great Courses and explore educational videos covering Business Skills, Dance, Engineering, History, Photography, Religion & Philosophy, Sports & Fitness, and more. Instructional video topics range from refrigeration and air conditioning to first aid and therapeutic massage. There are even curated collections for educators and students that provide lessons in mathematics, languages (including ESL), and science!

  • LearningExpress Library

    Offers practice tests, e-books, and skill-building courses for students and adult learners. Includes specialized learning centers for different interests and age groups cover learning topics like skills improvement in reading, writing, and mathematics; occupational exams and workplace skills; test preparation and study courses for elementary, middle, and high school students; and instructional videos for computer skills ranging from security to Photoshop. Many courses are available in Spanish.

  • LearningExpress Library: College Admissions Test Preparation

    Be ready for college entrance exams! Discover e-books, video tutorials, and practice tests to help you prepare for the ACT, SAT, and PSAT/NMSQT. The College Preparation Center also covers AP exams and the TOEFL iBT.

    In addition to useful skills reviews in math, reading, grammar, and writing, the College Students portal offers practice tests for college placement exams and graduate school admission exams. Includes GMAT, GRE, LSAT, MAT, MCAT, and PCAT.

    LinkedIn Learning is a premier online learning resource featuring tutorials from recognized experts in their fields covering technical skills, creative techniques, business strategies, career development, and more. Learning is self-paced and courses and tutorials are broken up into short videos, so it’s easy to squeeze in just a few minutes of learning a day if that’s all the time you have. Please note: The Library ID is bcplibky if you need it to sign in to your existing account.

  • Mango Languages

    Learn practical conversation skills for over 70 world languages on your computer or mobile device! Includes Arabic, Cherokee, Chinese, French, German, Greek, Italian, Japanese, Portuguese, Russian, Spanish, Tagalog, and more. Mango also offers fully interactive feature films to help users master new languages and more than 20 ESL courses.

  • Treehouse

    Based on user feedback and an interest in trying something new, we have decided to cancel our Treehouse subscription. You can continue to access your Treehouse account through BCPL until April 12th. In the meantime, we are pleased to introduce Fiero Code, a user-friendly, gamified experience designed to introduce youth ages 8–18 to coding. (But adults can definitely enjoy too!)

    Learn skills for business and life! Universal Class offers more than 500 lifelong-learning courses covering everything from wellness and personal growth to homeschooling, parenting, hobbies, and finance. Many courses even offer continuing education units (CEUs).
