Press Release: Author Faire Showcases Local Writers & Welcomes George Ella Lyons

September 15th, 2016

SHEPHERDSVILLE, KY – A number of local authors and readers will gather at the Ridgway Memorial Library in Shepherdsville on Saturday, October 1st from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM for Bullitt County Library’s 5th Annual Author Faire. The event provides an opportunity for local authors to interact with the community and promote their works. This is also a great time for the public to ask established authors about their work, their process, and their advice for getting published. Light refreshments will be provided for the public throughout the day. This year’s spotlight event will be a special workshop, “Mapping Your Memory House,” with Kentucky Poet Laureate George Ella Lyon.

Beginning at 10:00 AM, the author and poet will lead the audience in a writing exercise and read from Many-Storied House, the poetry collection that grew out of that exercise. Registration is required for guaranteed workshop admission. Author Faire will also feature public readings from several other published authors. Authors writing in a number of categories—including memoir, history,
self-help, cookbooks, mystery, romance, science fiction, fantasy, Christian fiction, young adult fiction, middle-grade fiction, and children’s picture books—will be present.

The Ridgway Memorial Library is located at 127 N. Walnut Street in Shepherdsville, KY. For more information on attending authors or to register for the workshop, please visit www.bcplib.org/authorfaire or contact the BCPL Outreach and Programs Department at 543-7675 ext. 5.
