The Bullitt County Public Library has an opening on their Board of Trustees for a dedicated, community-minded individual to represent Hillview/Northern Bullitt County. This is an unpaid volunteer position. Board members serve 4-year terms and attend meetings once a month, with occasional special-called meetings possible. Potential board members should be interested in helping the library grow in both service and scope—through new buildings, renovations, staff expansions, and other means—in order to best meet the needs of the community.
Specific duties include:
- Serving as a public figure for the library to increase public awareness and support of library services and initiatives.
- Providing strategic direction for effective planning.
- Setting policy, adopting the annual budget, and promoting overall excellence in public library services.
