Whitney Washington-Powers of Garden Girl Foods and BCPL’s  Jillian Tipping-Rodgers talk about food deserts and how getting children involved in gardening and cooking creates community and belonging. This is a kid-friendly session that will also feature children working in the garden, harvesting greens, and helping in the kitchen.

Garden Girl Foods features fresh and preserved foods that are all non-GMO, locally grown, and sourced from Black-owned farms. They also offer gardening and cooking classes for children ages 5 and up.
