The cicadas are coming!

You’re probably familiar with the distinctive rattling and buzzing sounds they make, and you might have found an exoskeleton in your yard. But there’s more to know about the local cicada broods that will be emerging this spring season and into the early summer.

Kiddos can connect with Paul Adkins of the 4-H Youth Development program to learn about these fascinating creatures and enjoy activities like nature drawing and watercolors. Meanwhile, teens and adults can join Horticulture County Extension Agent Lorilee Kunze to further explore cicada lifecycles, their songs, and how to prevent damage to young trees and shrubs.

Individually wrapped refreshments will be provided.

For all ages. Just drop in!
Join the fun anytime during scheduled event hours. Questions? Contact Stephanie at [email protected].
