Explore Your Heritage

Your BCPL library card is the key to exploring your ancestry! Most ancestry websites require a paid subscription, and we know not everyone is able to do that. We don’t think you should miss out on exploring your history, so BCPL offers two different heritage search sites for you to piece together your past to take into the future.

HeritageQuest

This comprehensive treasury contains unique American genealogical sources, local and family histories, convenient research guides, interactive census maps, and more. Find the website at heritagequestonline.com on a computer at your BCPL branch, or access it from your home computer at this link.

Ancestry.com Library Edition

The largest online family history resource available, with access to both domestic and international records. Access is available inside the library only.

BCPL Reference

Don’t forget – BCPL also has an extensive genealogy collection at Ridgway Memorial in the Susan S. Craik Genealogy Room, free for library patrons to peruse at their leisure. Our reference librarians are always available during normal library hours to help with your projects. You can even submit a Genealogy Request to them online!
