Makerspace: Wood Burning
Hang out and make art at BCPL!
***During SummerQuest, Makerspace is moving to the 4th Tuesday of the month!***
Come explore your artistic limits! Raid our maker cart and choose from a variety of art supplies and tools—from high-tech equipment like our Wacom art tablets to low-tech supplies like oil pastels and fine-line drawing pens. Then, use our supplies and your imagination to make your artistic visions a reality! We’ll often host special art, design, and craft instructors, and new art project will be featured each month. We’ll also have drinks and snacks if you just want to chill and hang with your friends.
For middle & high school ages.
Just drop in! Seating will be available on a first-come, first-served basis. Questions? E-mail firstname.lastname@example.org.
Upcoming Makerspace activities at Ridgway Memorial include:
MAY 28th: Astronaut Heads
Prepare for liftoff as we use styrofoam and a variety of art supplies to create our very own astronaut heads and helmets—also known as Snoopy caps!. You can make your own astronaut twin, try to recreate a real-life astronaut, or use your creativity to design your own unique space explorer.
June 25th: Tie-dyed T-shirts
Come make like it’s 1969 as you design your very own tie-dyed T-shirt. We’ll provide the dyes, but participants should bring their own T-shirts. Groovy!
July 23rd: Wood Burning
Make your mark as you burn your original designs into wooden coasters! Try your signature, or get creative with any other design you can conjure. Please note that space and supplies for this event are limited.
