Virtual Event Stcker Now you have something to look forward to on Mondays…

We’re having a very special edition of Fourth Monday Book Club this month featuring Hannah Coulter by Wendell Berry, selected by the Kentucky Humanities Council as the centerpiece of their 2020 Kentucky Reads project.

  • The novel was selected to inspire statewide conversations about what it means to be part of a rural community, past, present, and future.
  • The discussion will be led by Dr. Ann C. Hall. Dr. Hall is the Chair of the Department of Comparative Humanities at the University of Louisville, editor of The Harold Pinter Review, president of the International Harold Pinter society, and a theater series editor for Palgrave Macmillan.
  • Kentucky Humanities is a non-profit Kentucky corporation affiliated with the National Endowment for the Humanities. For more information about Kentucky Humanities’ programs and services, including Kentucky Reads, visit kyhumanities.org.
  • Complimentary copies of the novel, provided by Kentucky Humanities, are available while supplies last. If you would like a copy and plan to join the discussion, please contact e-mail LaDonna at [email protected].

ABOUT THE NOVEL
Hannah Coulter is Wendell Berry’s seventh novel and a continuation of his Port William, Kentucky saga. This is the first novel by Berry to be told from the perspective of a female character, an elderly farmwife looking back on her life and community as they are threatened by twentieth-century technologies.

ABOUT FOURTH MONDAY BOOK CLUB
Book lovers unite on the fourth Monday of the month! Join us for a relaxing evening on Zoom to discuss our latest book selection chosen by the group. Each meetup will be a new experience and you never know what will happen—you might get to lead the discussion (but only if you want!), or we could have a special guest when the author joins us for a virtual chat!
