Ahoy, library buccaneers!
We’re still getting our Pirate on this month at BCPL, and our children’s team is sharing some of their favorite pirate stories to prove it. These stories be treasures indeed!
Ms. Angel says:
I could not stop laughing through Louise Pigott’s Squirrel Me Timbers! I just loved the little squirrel and his adventure.
Ms. Brandy says:
My recommendation is Scooby-Doo!: Pirate’s Treasure by Maria S. Barbo. You all know I love all things Scooby-Doo! A treasure hunt, the possibility of a pirate ghost, and Scooby and the Gang—what more could a person hope for? Grab your Scooby Snacks and get ready for a fun adventure!
Ms. Jillian says:
Ms. Laura and I are always excited to read Pirates Love Underpants by Claire Freedom because who doesn’t enjoy a whimsical, rhyming tale about pirates and their colorful underpants on a conquest to find the beloved Pants of Gold?!
Ms. Kirsten says:
Our recommendation from Literacy for Littles is Pirate Pete’s Talk Like a Pirate by Kim Kennedy. We really enjoy this story because it has wonderfully fun illustrations and laughs abound! But make sure you learn how to talk like a pirate or you may end up walking the plank...”When the sun’s a-blazin’, me beard gets the itches, worse than a bucket of sand down me britches!”
