MEETING MINUTES
September 10, 2002
����������� The Bullitt County Public Library Board of Trustees met Tuesday, September 10, 2002, at the new Mt. Washington Branch Library.� Those present were Donald Cobb, Joyce Manning, Dolorse Ashby, Brenda Roberts, Randy Matlow, and Judy T. Jackson.� Donald Cobb called the meeting to order at 5:34 p.m.� Nelda Moore joined the meeting at 5:42 p.m. and Pam Polston joined the meeting at 5:45 p.m.� Beverly Reeks, the Mt. Washington branch librarian, was also present.
����������� The Minutes of the last meeting were read.� Brenda Roberts made the motion to accept the minutes as written.� Joyce Manning seconded the motion.� The motion carried.
����������� The Treasurer's Report was given.� Dolorse Ashby made the motion to accept the Treasurer's Report as given.� Joyce Manning seconded the motion.� The motion carried.� The Treasurer's Report will be filed for audit.
����������� Regional
Director's Report:
����������� Since Nelda was late in arriving, the Regional Director's report was given at the end of the meeting.
����������� Library Director's Report:
����������� The carpeting has been done at Ridgway Memorial and Dorothea Stottman Library.� We had figured on each library being closed for a week, but we were able to reopen Dorothea Stottman on Thursday, and Ridgway Memorial Library on Saturday.�
����������� We have not received the occupancy permit for the new Mt. Washington library, but all the other permits are complete.� We started the move on Monday.� We hope to open for business on Monday, September 16th.� A date for the open house was discussed.� The Board decided to have the open house on Sunday, September 29th, from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.� Our sign probably won't be here until October.� The circulation desk has a few adjustments, but will be done while the library is open.
����������� The annual report is finished.� A copy was handed out to each Board member.� After reviewing, if anyone has any questions, we can address them at the next meeting.
����������� The wireless project is at the point for us to start purchasing the needed equipment.� The grant money needs to be encumbered by September 30th.
����������� We have received a second grant.� This one is for our Poetry contest and workshops.� The award amount is $3837.
����������� Our tax rate will be held Thursday, September 19th, at 5:30 p.m.�� The location will be at Ridgway Memorial Library.
����������� Our custodial maintenance person is still out on workman's comp.� His wife passed away last week.� He will be on workman's comp for another three weeks at least.� We may need to look at hiring a custodial assistant if he will have to be off for a more extended time.�
����������� Dolorse Ashby made a motion to go into executive session to discuss the director's evaluation as stated in KRS 61.810(6) at 5:55 p.m.� Pam Polston seconded the motion.�
Joyce Manning made the motion to come out of executive session at 6:08 p.m.� Pam Polston seconded the motion.� No action taken.
����������� Regional
Director's Report:
����������� Nelda reminded the Board about the Trustee's Dinner in Elizabethtown on September 11th.� She promised it would be very entertaining.�
����������� Pam Polston made the motion to adjourn the meeting.� Dolorse Ashby seconded the motion.� The meeting was adjourned at 6:15 p.m.� The next meeting will be Tuesday, October 8th, 2002, at the Dorothea Stottman Library in Hillview, at 5:30 p.m.
