MEETING MINUTES
December 10, 2002
����������� The Bullitt County Public Library Board of Trustees met Tuesday, December 10, 2002, at the Ridgway Memorial Library in Shepherdsville.� Those present were Pam Polston, Donald Cobb, Brenda Roberts, Joyce Manning, Randy Matlow, Delorse Ashby, and Judy T. Jackson.� Mr. Cobb called the meeting to order at 5:30 p.m.
����������� The minutes of the last meeting were read.� Delorse Ashby made the motion to accept the minutes as written.� Brenda Roberts seconded the motion.� The motion carried.
����������� The Treasurer's Report was given, along with the audit.� Pam Polston made the motion to accept the Treasurer's Report as given.� Joyce Manning seconded the motion.� The motion carried.� The Treasurer's Report will be filed for audit.
����������� Regional Director's Report:
����������� Nelda Moore was not present, but did send the monthly regional newsletter for distribution.
����������� Library Director's Report:
����������� Randy opened the one bid submitted on the old Mt. Washington Library building.� The bid did not meet all the qualifications and was therefore rejected.
����������� Delorse Ashby made the motion to go into executive session to discuss the property issue as stated in KRS 61.805-61.850.� Brenda Roberts seconded the motion.� The Executive Session began at 5:36 p.m.
����������� Pam Polston made the motion to come out of Executive Session.� Delorse seconded the motion.� The Executive Session ended at 5:50 p.m.� Delorse Ashby made the motion to place the old Mt. Washington Library building on the market for $149,950, with both the payment plan options.� Brenda Roberts seconded the motion.� The motion carried.� Joyce Manning made the motion to give Randy Matlow the authority to advertise the building to the best of his judgment.� Pam Polston seconded the motion.� The motion carried.
����������� The next payroll will be 12/24/02.� Judy Jackson asked if she could have the payroll checks ready by 5 p.m. on the 23rd, since the libraries would be closed on the 24th and 25th for the holidays.� Delorse Ashby made the motion to allow the payroll checks to be disbursed by 5 p.m. on the 23rd.� Brenda Roberts seconded the motion.� The motion carried.
����������� The towers have been delivered to the construction person.� Randy has not had a chance to meet with the Publisher's people again, but will as soon as possible.�
����������� Barbara Cross has submitted a Workman's Comp claim for a hernia problem.� She has had surgery, but should return to work next Monday.� We have not heard back from the Workman's Comp people about the claim.
����������� The afternoon session of our Staff Development Day had to be cancelled because of the bad weather.� We also closed the following day due to the weather.
����������� Donald Cobb asked if we had a chance to check on the custodial assistant yet.� Randy advised that Bill is dong fine right now, but we will be checking into this in the future.
����������� Donald Cobb asked if we were going to give Christmas bonuses to the staff this year.� Randy advised that according to Nelda, Christmas bonuses were unconstitutional.� This was discussed earlier in the year, and decided the Board would not be doing it this year because of Kentucky constitutional issues.

����������� Pam Polston made the motion to adjourn the meeting.� Delorse Ashby seconded the motion.� The meeting was adjourned at 6:05 p.m.
����������� The next regular meeting will be January 14th, at 5:30 p.m. at Ridgway Memorial Library.
