BOARD OF TRUSTEES

MONTHLY MEETING

January 8, 2002

����������� The Bullitt County Public Library Board of Trustees met at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday, January 8, 2002, at the Dorothea Stottman Library in Hillview.� Those present were Donald Cobb, Joyce Manning, Brenda Roberts, Randy Matlow, Judy T. Jackson, Pam Polston, and Nelda Moore.� Donald Cobb called the meeting to order at 5:34 p.m.�

����������� The minutes of the last meeting were read.� Brenda Roberts made the motion to accept the minutes as given.� Joyce Manning seconded the motion.� The motion carried.

����������� The Treasurer�s Report was given in part.� The bank statements were late in coming in.� Pam Polston made the motion to accept the Treasurer�s Report as given.� Joyce Manning seconded the motion.� The approved Treasurer�s Report will be filed for audit.

����������� Regional Director�s Report:

����������� Nelda advised that KDLA is cutting grant money, and that we would not be receiving a book grant this year.� Book grant money will not be budgeted for again, probably.

����������� Nelda Moore passed on four sets of posters that were paid for with LSTA grant money.� The subject of the posters was early childhood development.�

����������� Pam Polston made the motion to accept the regional director�s report.� Brenda Roberts seconded the motion.� The motion carried.

����������� Library Director�s Report:

����������� The Mt. Washington construction is coming right along.� We have had another meeting with Central Business Group, and have a few more decisions for the board to make on the furnishings.� After reviewing the new materials, the board made their decision.

����������� Mr. Spainhour has worked out the elements of the COLT bond issue., so that both parties as satisfied with the wording of the contract.� We should be finalizing this document soon.

����������� Mr. Cobb advised the board that the new city park in front of our new library building was coming along also.

����������� Randy advised that we needed to hold a public meeting addressing filtering for the E-Rate contract.� The Board decided to hold the meeting at 6:30 p.m. after the regular monthly meeting.� This will be February 12t^h, and be held at the Lebanon Junction Branch Library.

����������� The Board looked at carpet samples for the Dorothea Stottman Library.� The Branch Librarian, Barbara Cross had liked the light brown color.� The Board decided to request a few more colors and styles to look at.

����������� We have received a $10,000. Check for a first installment from the Edith Grisby Trust towards the Edith Grisby Room that will be located at the Mt. Washington Branch Library.� The remainder of the money will be forthcoming.

����������� Brenda Roberts made the motion to adjourn.� Pam Polston seconded the motion.� The meeting was adjourned at 6:15 p.m.

����������� The next meeting will be Tuesday, February 12^th, at the Lebanon Junction Branch Library.
