DESCRIPTION:COVID Alert: This program is on hiatus until at least February 11th. Due to the difficulty of enforcing social distancing and masks with young children\, and keeping current CDC recommendations in mind\, we have made the difficult decision to put many of our programs for children under age 5 on temporary hold. In the meantime\, we will continue monitoring the local COVID incidence rate and will await further guidance from local health and government agencies. \n\nWhen I say to a parent\, “read to a child\,” I don’t want it to sound like medicine. I want it to sound like chocolate. —Mem Fox \nReading becomes a favorite treat as we explore early literacy through stories\, songs\, and a simple craft. This free program for children ages 3 to 5 is designed to provide kids a foundation for kindergarten\, including helping them to develop important socialization skills. We strive to create fun and rich experiences that build a love of books\, libraries\, and learning that will stay with children for a lifetime. \nSpecial Storytimes \n\nOCTOBER 29th: Halloween Party\nDECEMBER 17th: Winter Holiday Party\nFEBRUARY 11th: Valentine’s Day Party\nAPRIL 15th: Easter Party\nMAY 20th: Graduation Party\n\n\nMorning Session: 11:00–11:45 AM\nAfternoon Session: 2:00–2:45 PM \nWeekly Storytimes are offered at our Ridgway Memorial (Thursdays) and Lebanon Junction (Fridays) locations in the morning and afternoon.\nA parent or caregiver must remain with the child at all times. You might also be interested in Literacy for Littles at Nichols Branch Library or Family Storytime at our Hillview and Mt.
