Play. Explore. Investigate.

Sensational sensory fun awaits! Bring your little ones to the library to explore sensory learning.

Sensory play is designed to stimulate a young child’s senses—hearing, seeing, tasting, smelling, touching—and to create an early, natural introduction to the scientific processes as children play and investigate. We will provide several exciting sensory stations for your child to explore while introducing you to early learning tools to benefit your child’s development. Plus, we will provide a take-home project so you can continue the learning and fun beyond your visit! Things could get messy, so be sure to dress appropriately.

Monthly Takeaways

DECEMBER: Ornaments
Get festive as you create an ornament filled with glitter and bells, designed to excite little eyes and ears!

JANUARY: Firecracker Creation
With the materials we provide, have a blast making a fun (and safe) salt firecracker.

FEBRUARY: Valentine Sensory Bottles
Add glitter and heart confetti to a bottle, creating a sensory object that can relieve anxiety or be used as a calming or time-out aid.

MARCH: Glow-in-the-Dark Bottles
With rice and glow-in-the-dark paint, create a bottle that can be used as a fun nightlight.

APRIL: DIY Playdough
Make your own playdough from common kitchen ingredients.

For ages 0–4. Just drop in!
Space and take-home materials will be available on a first-come, first-served basis. Questions? E-mail angel@bcplib.org.
