DESCRIPTION:Bring the whole family and dig into a dinosaur adventure… \nJoin us to make amazing fossil discoveries at our own geological dig site in the library! Young explorers and their families can excavate dinosaur parts from our site\, then use teamwork and their inner archaeologists to piece everything back together. We’ll have REAL dinosaur bones to touch\, fossils to identify\, and tons of fun\, dinosaur-themed activities to choose from. Plus\, learn more about these fascinating creatures of the past\, how fossils are formed\, and what we can learn from them today. \nEnjoy our Dino Dig Adventure for the full two hours\, or join the expedition when you can. Please keep in mind that some activities may no longer be open for later arrivals. Don’t forget to wear old clothes; this could get messy! \nDid you know…?\n• The word dinosaur is roughly derived from two Greek words: deinos (meaning “terrible\, powerful\, wondrous”) + sauros (meaning “lizard”)\n• In the 1930s\, researchers in Tanzania discovered the bones of a Nyasasaurus parringtoni\, which s0me now believe was the first dinosaur to ever live. It was an awkwardly-shaped beast about the size of a Labrador\, with a long neck and tail. \nFor all ages. Just drop in!\nSpace will be available on a first-come\, first-served basis. Questions?
