DESCRIPTION:Heroes don’t always wear capes… \nCome meet everyday heroes that live right here in your hometown! We’ll showcase local charities\, organizations\, and people who give back to the community in amazing ways. Learn about volunteer work at our local animal shelter\, hear stories from a veteran and local police officer\, and be inspired by photos and travel tales demonstrating the impact even a small connection can make. Plus\, you can befriend adoptable bunnies\, paint hive boxes that will be installed around the county as public art\, and explore a real-life fire engine and police cruiser! \nListen to our heroes tell stories of how they give back to the community—and discover how you can make a difference too. Confirmed organizations and individuals include: \n\nAlley Cat Advocates\nBee Is for Bullitt County\nUpdated 3/20: Due to a schedule conflict\, Bee Is for Bullitt County won’t be able to make it to the Community Heroes Festival. But you can still enjoy painting hive boxes that they will place around the county as functional public art!\nBullitt County Animal Shelter\nBun Bun Brigade\nCedar Grove Wellness Center\nFriends of Bullitt County Animal Shelter\nHosparus Health Volunteer Services\n\nThe Shepherd’s Pantry\nTurnaround Resource Center\nFirefighters from the Lebanon Junction and Shepherdsville Fire Departments\nSherry Notarangelo (Photographer & Author)\nChief Terry Phillips (Lebanon Junction Police Department)\nDavid Waters (Veteran\, Louisville Metro Police & Animal Shelter Volunteer)\n\n**Please note\, this event will be hosted at Lebanon Junction Elementary School\, located at 10920 Preston Highway.** \nFor all ages.
