Bullitt County Public Library cardholders of all ages are invited to create an original and imaginative work of art in March for our second annual art showcase. In April, submissions will go on public display at Ridgway Memorial Library, and photos of all submissions will also be shared in a photo album on the library’s page on Facebook.
For this year’s theme, you are challenged to reimagine the cover of one of your favorite books. For inspiration, browse the book covers at BCPL or check out our Cover Crush board on Pinterest. You can also find some excellent examples of cover recreations online, including these fan-designed cover redesigns for The Great Gatsby and the results of this crowdsourcing initiative to recover the classics. We can’t wait to see what you create!
And to help get you started, the Library is excited to offer eight ARTfest workshops in March led by local artists (details below). Those who attend a workshop will have access to an assortment of art supplies and be given a free 8x10 inch canvas or poster. However, you are not required to attend a workshop to participate in ARTfest!
Please register as soon as possible. Fill out the registration form below, or contact us at 543-7675 ext. 5.
Prizes for Patron Favorites Include:
$50 gift card for art classes and art supplies from Small Town Gallery in Brooks
$50 value glass-blowing session at Fire Gallery in Hillview
